Howard, I've often wondered... do you form these images in your mind before you sit down to make them, or do they come to you as you work?

I'd love to have that imagination for 15 minutes. The world would be sorry... but I'd love it. lol

Con il mio occhio sinistro ti controllo.
Howard ho provato a distogliere lo sguardo e a posarlo sulle braccia, ma quell'occhio è sempre lì che mi guarda, mi segue ovunque.
baciotti, gabriella

I really missed a blog like this one! O_O
Awesome!

p.s. faccio templates ... non è che potrei usare una di queste foto dei tuoi pongo-ominidi per qualche template? ovviamente il tutto creditato...

Finally, updated!
Nice to meet you. I saw your subscription awhile ago, but never got the chance to say hello!
You have nice art works here, are they also for sale, or only as a hobby?

they are too delicate to send, the plasticine never hardens and gets very soft in warm weather... I need to find a way to replicate them in plastic or resin...

I think a mold out of dental gel or liquid latex would work. Both set at room-temperature. I was just working on this, with my sculpture project, in which the goal is to avoid scalding the model. There are some waxes, too, but they all involve heat.

I'd usually buy from Dick Blick, because it's usually the cheapest, but by the time they ship it there (they will) it might be cheaper to pick a more local place.

Hi, Howard!
I would be glad if Someone sent me a basket of Avocado's! Just kidding.
I just eat it plain, to be honest never tried to mix it with anything before. But Avocado sushi is very nice though.
When will you update your pjhoto blog?
I really like all ofyour photo's, especially with those cut out pieces of poems! Keep up the "Art" work!

I've always been particularly fond of the white ones H. This looks a bit like me when I am getting out of bed in the morning. I don't have two eyes available until after my first cup of coffee.

Hello Howard,

All of your pongos are awsome. Would you make one for my fisherfolk friends one day?

I would print the pictures out and stick them to the shack's wall..

My illiterate friends are so hungry for pictures, any pictures..

Cheers
Helmi

so wait, you can't bake pongo to harden it? that's interesting. adds another dimention to your art: the impermanence of everything.

anyway, i love Sy. he immediately fills me with empathy.

Ladyinthemoon, I neglected to answer your question, sorry. I usually start out with a blank mental slate and just choose a color that suits the mood, or mix colors for a while. Then I just aimlessly create shapes and stare at the lump to see if it suggests something, kind of like looking at a cloud and seeing a creature. When it clicks, I just work at bringing that to life and it always ends up different.

If I continue to draw a blank I might pick a category and tell myself: biped, a bust, dog-like or whatever. That's it, darling. Thanks for the interest. :)
